The Freedom of Information Act 2000 encourages greater openness and transparency across the whole public sector.   The Act provides individuals and/or organisations with the right (subject to certain exemptions) to request information held by public authorities, including Parish Councils.   It also obliges every public authority to adopt an approved publication scheme.

Willingham Parish Council has adopted the model publication scheme for public sector organisations produced by the Information Commissioner's Office and applicable from 1st January 2009.   The document attached below describes the classes of information to be published under the scheme, how this information can be obtained and the cost of obtaining it (where relevant).

In an attempt to minimise the potential cost to its parishioners, the Parish Council has made as much of the information as possible accessible, free of charge, via this website

A charge of £10.00 per hour or part thereof will be charged for any searches or work undertaken at the written request of members of the public.  All fees are payable in advance.
