MINUTES of the MEETING of WILLINGHAM by STOW PARISH COUNCIL

Present:  Cllrs D Bingham (Chairman), M Bates, Q Connell, J Didcock, C Devine, D Leak

In Attendance: L Brooks-Sleight (Clerk) and 1 resident

2024/43 Minutes of last Meetings

            The Minutes of the Meeting held on 14th March 2024 were approved and signed as a true &

            correct record Resolved

2024/44 Declarations of Interest

            None received

2024/45 Representatives Report

            The police report was sent prior to the meeting

2024/46 Clerks Report

• The free Kings Charles portrait has been ordered
• Defib update – WLDC are accessing our Defib an d will be in touch about the scheme
• Cemetery bins - issue with refuge men not collecting from inside the cemetery gates, WLDC has issued a reminder to the collectors
• Cllr emails – 2x Cllrs have been set up with gmail.com emails set up but need cllrs available to send codes to complete each one

2024/47 D-Day Celebrations 6th June 2024

           Cllr Connell reported that the VH and the pub are linking up to organise the event, the pub are

           purchasing a Lamp of Peace and questions were asked about the village Beacon. Cllrs

           to enquire about a new Beacon for the village celebrations.

2024/48 Highways

• The playpark/elderly crossing sign on Gainsborough Rd is facing the field not the traffic
• Water furrows Lane – 2x trees down

2024/55 Parish Field Picnic Benches

            No quotes received, clerk to obtain for next meeting

2024/56 Bus Shelter Benches

           No quotes received, clerk to contact other contractors for quotes at next meeting

2024/57 Finance

a. The Final Accounts year ending 31st March 2024 were approved & signed Resolved

b. It was approved to certify WPC as exempt, the Certificate of Exemption was signed. Resolved

c. The monthly accounts for payment & corresponding Bank Statements were approved as a

true & correct record Resolved

2024/59 Agenda Items for next meeting and to take any points from members

• Flagpole – an estimate of £250 to install, clerk to submit a grant application to Cllr L Mullally’s CIF for £500 (cost + installation)
• School Trust Fund, no contact or updates since last year – clerk to contact the current secretary
• Public footpath (Grange Lane-Stow Rd) very muddy – quotes for next meeting to place chippings

2024/60 To consider the exclusion of the public and press in accordance with the Public Bodies
